The municipality of Mladějov is located near the nature reserve Český ráj in the Okres Jičín , Czech Republic . The place is also known as the gateway to the Bohemian Paradise.

From the district of Pařízek there is a view of the Trosky Castle , the Kozákov , Ještěd and Střelečská Hůra mountains and the Giant Mountains . In the area there are forests, meadows and rocky landscapes. The place belongs to the microregion Český ráj . About 550 inhabitants live in the village on an area of ​​1204 hectares.

history

The first mention of it comes from 1372, when Kunrát von Mladějova ruled here.

The Mladějov manor belonged to the burgrave Konrad von Dohna until it came into possession of Wallenstein . He sold it on March 30, 1627 Johann Albrecht Slawata von Chlum and Koschumberg . On June 3, 1628, the Friedland court master Paul Cornazani (also Karnitzan) received a fiefdom letter over the estate. He and his wife sold it again to Magdalena Kunasch born in 1629. Franz Josef Gerstner lived in the castle, built in the 18th century, until his death . He, his son Franz Anton von Gerstner and Mathias von Schönerer planned and built the Budweis – Linz – Gmunden horse-drawn railway .
