Milovice u Hořic , until 1998 Milovice (German Milowitz ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic . It is located 20 kilometers northwest of the city center of Hradec Králové and belongs to the Okres Jičín .
geography
Milovice is located in the North Bohemian table country on the Rašínský creek above its confluence with the Bašnický potok . The European road 442 / State road 35 between Hradec Králové and Jičín runs through the village .
Neighboring towns are Vinice and Hořice in the north, Ostrov and Třebnouševes in the northeast, Rašín in the east, Horní Černůtky and Klenice in the southeast, Stračov in the south, Bříšťany in the southwest, Zvínovská and Sukorady in the west and Bašnice and Dobrá Voda u Hořic in the northwest.
history
The first evidence of settlement in the area of the municipality comes from the Neolithic Age . Milovice has been documented since 1197. The church was first mentioned in 1384.
After the abolition of patrimonial Milovice formed a municipality in the Hradec Králové district from 1850. During the German War in 1866 Milovice was on the edge of the battlefield of the Battle of Königgrätz . From 1900 the community belonged to the Nová Paka district and came to Okres Hořice in the 1930s and to Okres Jičín in 1961. Milovice was incorporated into Bašnice on April 30, 1976 . Milovice has existed again since November 24, 1990. On January 1st, 1999 the name of the municipality was changed to Milovice u Hořic .
