The agricultural town of Sobotka (outdated Saboth ) with 2,300 inhabitants is located in Okres Jičín , ( Czech Republic ) and is one of the starting points for the Český ráj (Bohemian Paradise).
Attractions
Sobotka is a city with tourism and a cultural and literary tradition. The National Festival of the Czech Language and Literature “Šrámkova Sobotka” takes place here regularly. Because of the well-preserved folk architecture (timbered wooden houses) and other architectural monuments, parts of Sobotka have been declared a monument zone .
Humprecht Castle is located above the city ; Hiking trails lead to Kost Castle and to Vesec, Staré Hrady and the Plakánek Valley.
