history

The original location of the village Voháňka is said to have been north in the valley at the place of the wasteland Maňovice. The first written mention of Boháňová Lhota and Maňovice was in 1378 in connection with the erection of an altar for St. Catherine in the church of Velký Vřešťov . Boháňka was part of the Velký Vřešťov domain.

After the abolition of patrimonial Boháňka formed with the district Skála from 1850 a municipality in the district of Hradec Králové. In 1961 Votuz and Chloumek were incorporated, at the same time the community came to Okres Jičín.

In the south and southeast of Boháňka, not far from Skála and Votuz, there are several sandstone quarries. The light sandstone of Boháňka has a firm consistency. He was u. a. used for the White Tower ( Bílá věž ) in Hradec Králové and Prague Castle .
