Jaguar Wright (born 1977 in Philadelphia , Pennsylvania , United States ; real name Jacquelyn Wright ) is an American contemporary R&B and jazz singer .

Life

Wright grew up in a Christian family that did not play popular music. In 1993 she had her first child, got married and became a mother for the second time in 2002.

Wright began her musical career with the hip-hop band Philly Blunts. She then worked as a background singer until she started her solo career in 1999. An appearance at the open stage "Black Lily" in her hometown led to further invitations to this event, where she was noticed and committed by MCA at some point . She achieved her first success on a tour with the band The Roots . The debut album Denials, Delusions and Decisions was released in early 2002 , which is a neo-soul album with jazzy and funky influences. Divorcing Neo 2 Marry Soul was released three years later . In 2009 she released the songs Beautiful and Surely Shawty as free downloads on the Internet.
