Candy Shop ( English for " candy store is") a song by the American rapper 50 Cent , he together with the R & B - singer Olivia recorded. The song is the second single from his second studio album The Massacre and was released on January 15, 2005.

content

Candy Shop is a club song with lyrics full of sexual innuendos and metaphors from the world of candy. 50 Cent raps about having the “magic stick” and letting the woman lick the “lollipop”. But he also becomes clear and means that he will fulfill all of her wishes and will do it with her in every place. What happens in the process is their shared secret. While 50 Cent raps the verses alone, the refrain is performed by him and Olivia together.

"I'll take you to the candy shop
I'll let you lick the lollipop
Go ahead, girl, don't you stop
Keep going 'til you hit the spot, whoaa"

- Excerpt from the chorus from Candy Shop

production

The song was produced by the American music producer Scott Storch , who wrote the lyrics along with 50 Cent. The song contains a sample of the Salsoul Orchestra's Love Break song .

Music video

The music video shot for Candy Shop was directed by Dominican director Jessy Terrero. It was filmed in Hollywood on January 11th and 12th, 2005 . The video has over 570 million views on YouTube (as of June 2020).

At the beginning 50 Cent drives up in a red Saleen S7 in front of a villa and is greeted by Olivia with the words "Welcome to the Candy Shop". Then he goes through the house, in which there are scantily clad women everywhere. After all, he has fun in a room with a woman on a bed. Then he can be seen with a woman in a nurse costume and later meets a dominatrix with a whip. In between you can see 50 Cent rapping in front of his car or in the villa and Olivia dancing a choreography with other women in red outfits. Shortly before the end, 50 Cent and Olivia get closer on a couch, but at that moment 50 Cent wakes up and stands in the car in front of a candy store, which Olivia is serving. The video also features rappers Lloyd Banks , Young Buck and Lil Scrappy .
