Lil Scrappy (born January 20, 1984 in Atlanta , Georgia ; real name Darryl Kevin Richards II ), also known as Merlo Jonez and The Prince of Crunk , is an American rapper and is under contract with Disturbing tha Peace .

Life

Lil Scrappy had his first appearances in 2003 at various high schools in the southern United States . The BME team also noticed him at one of these school concerts when 2000 schoolchildren sang along with his first hit, Head Bussa . Lil Jon then arranged a meeting with Lil Scrappy to sign him to BME Recordings. He became one of the first artists to sign at BME Recordings.

A short time later, his first single, Head Bussa , was heard on radios across the entire South American region and reached number 73 on the Billboard R&B and hip-hop charts. In February 2004 he released the double album The King of Crunk & BME Recordings Present: Lil Scrappy and Trillville with his label colleagues Trillville . Thanks to the success of his second single No Problem (track for the film Training Day) and the hits Some Cut and Neva Eva von Trillville, the album reached number 12 in the US charts .

In 2006 Lil Scrappy had numerous appearances with 50 Cent , which resulted in good relationships with him. Through a joint venture deal, he is under contract with BME and G-Unit, which musically had an effect on his debut album Bred 2 Die Born 2 Live . The songs for the album were recorded on the tour bus during the Anger Management Tour .

In 2009 Lil Scrappy signed a contract with Ludacris' DTP (Disturbing Tha Peace), leaving BME Records. As a result, Scrappy's label G '$ Up is also included in DTP.

Since 2010 Scrappy has been working closely with his new partner Rolls Royce Rizzy , who thereby became a member of G '$ Up Entertainment .
