The New Breed ( English for: " the new breed ") is a video album by the American rapper 50 Cent . It was released on April 15, 2003 on the Interscope Records , Aftermath Entertainment and Shady Records labels . The album is approved by the FSK from the age of twelve. In addition to the DVD , a CD with three songs is also included.

The DVD documents 50 Cent's work in the studio on various songs as well as the creation process of his debut album Get Rich or Die Tryin ' , which was released in February 2003. The documentary was directed by Don Robinson and Damon Johnson. It also includes the music videos for the songs Heat , Wanksta and In da Club as well as a live performance in Detroit . In addition to 50 Cent, the G-Unit rappers Tony Yayo and Lloyd Banks as well as his mentors Eminem and Dr. Dre , who also served as executive producers of the DVD.

The album cover shows 50 Cent, who wears a bulletproof vest , a chain and a black baseball cap and looks at the viewer with a serious look. At the top right of the picture are the white lettering 50 Cent , The New Breed and DVD . A passage surrounded by fences can be seen in the background.

The New Breed entered the US album charts at number 2 on May 3, 2003 and stayed in the top 200 for a total of 17 weeks. The video album sold over 645,000 copies in the United States by the end of 2003, where it was the most successful music DVD of the year. In the German charts, however, it could not place.

In the UK, the video album received a gold record for more than 25,000 copies sold in 2013 .
