Curtis received mostly average ratings from critics. The side Metacritic calculated from 22 reviews of English-language media is a section of 58%.

Alexander Engelen from laut.de rated the album with two out of a possible five points. 50 Cent copied himself to Curtis "and forgets to shift up a few gears." So no song reaches "the intensity of Get Rich or Die Tryin ' or the self-assured hit feeling of The Massacre ." The rapper has "not only with its flow significantly reduced. It seems he's just run out of ideas. Little or nothing can be heard from his patented knack for catchy hooks. "
