Tony Yayo (born March 31, 1978 in Queens , New York City ; actually Marvin J. Bernard ) is an American rapper . In 1998 he co-founded the G Unit group together with 50 Cent .

biography

Tony Yayo, 50 Cent and Lloyd Banks grew up in the same borough of New York, Queens . He also worked with The Game and supported them on the song Runnin ' on his album The Documentary . Since he left the G Unit, however, both have had an argument. The Game later tried to contact 50 Cent again, but Tony Yayo declined on behalf of 50 Cent. His pseudonym is based on the leading role Tony Montana in the film Scarface and the Spanish word for cocaine llello (pronounced like Yayo ), which is often used in the film . He also played in a few films. After the severe earthquake in Haiti in 2010 , he helped the people affected and reminded them not to forget them quickly.

It was heard for the first time on the mixtape collection G Unit Radio by DJ Whoo Kid . He later worked on the work Guess Who's Back Again with. Due to a conviction for illegal gun possession and bail evasion, he was in custody from 2003 to the beginning of 2004 and was barely able to take part in the G-Unit debut album Beg for Mercy 2003. During this prison sentence, G Unit started the "Free Yayo" campaign. Eminem took part in the campaign. In the summer of 2005, Tony Yayo released a solo album entitled Thoughts of a Predicate Felon . The album reached position 2 on the US charts with 216,000 sales in the first week.

A new, previously nameless album was announced for June 2011, but it was postponed. The first single from it was called Pass the Patron , on the 50 Cent is available as a feature and reached number 48 on the US Hot Rap Songs. The second single on the album was called Haters . The track features 50 Cent, Shawty Lo, Kidd Kidd and Roscoe Dash. It reached number 112 on the US R&B charts.

Tony Yayo has a daughter named Maniyah.
