Rachael Zena Chebet (born November 5, 1996 ) is a Ugandan long-distance runner .

Athletic career

Rachael Zena Chebet gained her first international experience at the World Cross Country Championships 2013 in Bydgoszcz , where she finished 31st in the U20 classification after 19:55 minutes. She then took part in the 1500-meter run at the World Youth Championships in Donetsk , where she was eliminated in the first round with 4: 34.27 minutes. Two years later, at the 2015 World Cross Country Championships in Guiyang , she finished 21st in the junior class in 21:01 minutes, and at the 2016 African Championships in Durban , she took seventh place in the 5000 meter run in 15: 53.50 minutes and couldn't finish her 10,000 m race. At the 2017 World Cross Country Championships in Kampala , she came in fourth after 33:58 min and two years later at the World Cross Country Championships in Aarhus after 36:47 min and secured the bronze medal with the team. Then she took part in the 10,000 meter run for the first time in the Africa Games in Rabat , where she finished seventh in 32: 48.03 minutes. With her fourth place at the World Cross Country Championship she qualified over this distance for the World Championships in Doha , where she finished 18th in 32: 41.93 minutes .

In 2014 and 2019 Chebet was Ugandan champion in the 5000-meter run and in 2019 also in the 10,000 m.
