Cross Country World Championships 2013

The 40th IAAF World Cross Country Championships the IAAF (official 40th IAAF World Cross Country Championships in 2013 ) took place on 24. March 2013 in Bydgoszcz instead. The Polish city ​​was the venue for the second time since 2010.

course

The races were held on a 1950 m long circuit in Myślęcinek Park , and there was also a start and a finish straight to be completed. The men ran six laps, the women and juniors four and the juniors three. Compared to 2010, the course had more inclines, curves and natural obstacles.

Competitions

A total of four races took place, one each for men and women as well as juniors (born 1997 or older). A team classification was carried out in each race. For this purpose, the placements of the four best participants in each country were added up; the team with the lowest total won. In the event of a tie, the ranking of the fourth runner decided. Each country was allowed to use a maximum of six runners in each competition.

The IAAF distributed prize money totaling US $ 280,000 in the adult races . Of this, $ 30,000 went to the individual winners and $ 20,000 to the winning teams.

There were no German athletes in the main runs, but in the public fun race. Jost-Lennart Heese was the clear winner on the original six-kilometer World Championship (18:41 min), Tim Stegemann (19:01 min) came second, ahead of his club colleague Sebastian Schenk (19:17 min), and Miriam took the place in the women's competition Dattke (SCB Berlin), her club colleague Kai-Louise Neugebauer came third.
