World Cross Country Championships 2005

The 33rd IAAF World Cross Country Championships the IAAF took place on 19 and 20 March 2005 in Saint-Etienne / Saint-Galmier instead.

course

The venue was the racecourse of Saint-Galmier, about 20 km from Saint-Étienne, where the teams stayed. A 1.956 km lap had been prepared there, which was supplemented by a start distance of 284 m.

The men completed six laps (12.02 km) on the long distance, the women and the juniors four laps (8.108 km), the juniors three laps (6.152 km) and the short distance runners of both sexes two laps (4.196 km).

Competitions

The junior women's race, the men's short-distance race and the women's long-distance race took place on March 19, and the other three races on the following day. A total of $ 560,000 in prize money was available for the adult competitions, of which the winners of each race received $ 30,000 and each winning team received $ 20,000.
