Belaynesh Zemedkun

Belaynesh Zemedkun ( Belaynesh Zemedkun Gebre ; born December 23, 1987 in Debre Berhan ) is an Ethiopian long-distance runner who specializes in road running.

In the junior women's race of the Cross Country World Championships, she won silver with the Ethiopian team in 2005 in Saint-Galmier and in 2006 in Fukuoka as fifth .

In 2009 she won the Naples Half-Marathon, the Hospital Hill Run, the America's Finest City Half Marathon, the San José Half Marathon and the Boston Half Marathon.

In 2010 she finished second in the Crescent City Classic and third in the Boilermaker 15K, defended her title in America's Finest City Half Marathon and won the Big Sur Half Marathon and the Honolulu Marathon at the end of the season . The following year she set a course record in the Naples Half Marathon, was fourth in the Houston Marathon , second in the Prague Half Marathon , third in the Crescent City Classic and in the Prague Marathon and fourth in the Chicago Marathon .

In 2012, a third place in the Houston Marathon half marathon was followed by a second in the Nagano Marathon .
