World Cross Country Championships 2006
The 34th IAAF World Cross Country Championships the IAAF took place on 1 and 2 April 2006 in Fukuoka ( Japan instead).
The short-distance competitions were part of the program for the last time.
course
A 2 km circuit had been set up in Umi-no-Nakamichi Park. The men covered 12 km on the long distance, the women on the long distance and the juniors 8 km, the juniors 6 km and the short distance runners of both sexes 4 km.
Competitions
The junior women's race, the men's short-distance race and the women's long-distance race took place on March 19, and the other three races on the following day. A total of $ 560,000 in prize money was available for the adult competitions, of which the winners of each race received $ 30,000 and each winning team received $ 20,000.
