Yumi Sato

Yumi Satō ( Japanese 佐藤 由 美 , Satō Yumi ; born December 22, 1976 in Tsuruoka ) is a Japanese long-distance runner .

In 1995 she won bronze at the Universiade in the 5000 m . In 2004 she became Asian cross-country champion , and came 52nd at the World Cross-Country Championships in Brussels , and at the 2005 Asian Athletics Championships , she won bronze over 5000 m and silver over 10,000 m .

At the Cross Country World Championships in Fukuoka she contributed with a 30th place to the bronze medal win of the Japanese team and was eighth in the New York Mini 10K .

In 2009 she was second in the Kyoto Half Marathon and in 2010 sixth in the Tokyo Marathon .

Yumi Satō is 1.72 m tall and weighs 55 kg. She graduated from Sangyō University in Kyoto and then became a member of Shiseido's corporate team .
