World Cross Country Championships 1980

The 8th IAAF World Cross Country Championships the IAAF took place on 9. March 1980 at the Longchamp Racecourse in Paris ( France instead).

The men started over a distance of 12.58 km, the women over 4.82 km and the juniors over 7.41 km.

By winning the silver medal, Hans-Jürgen Orthmann achieved the best placement for a German athlete to date.
