Frank Grillaert

Frank Grillaert (born October 22, 1946 ) is a former Belgian athlete who was twice team world champion in cross country .

Frank Grillaert took 27th place in the individual ranking at the World Cross Country Championships in Monza in 1974 , the Belgian team with Erik De Beck , Karel Lismont , Marc Smet , Gaston Roelants , Grillaert and Erik Gyselinck won the title. Three years later in Monza Leon Schots , Erik De Beck, Karel Lismont, Willy Polleunis , Frank Grillaert and Eddy Van Mullem won the team standings, in the individual standings Grillaert finished 27th again. In 1977 Grillaert won his only Belgian championship title, in 29: 26.28 min he won the 10,000 meter run . In the summer of 1978 he took part in the European Championships in Prague over 10,000 meters. In a very fast race, all three Belgians lost track early on, Leon Schots was the best Belgian at the finish in 12th, Frank Grillaert was in 16 th place in 28: 43.5 minutes, two places ahead of Lismont. In 1979 Grillaert achieved his best placing at a cross-country championship with 19th place, the Belgian team took fifth place. The following year Grillaert crossed the finish line in 44th place, but won the bronze medal with the team.
