Michael Karst

Michael Karst (born January 28, 1952 in Mannheim ) is a former German athlete and Olympic participant who was successful in the 3000 meter obstacle course in the 1970s - starting for the Federal Republic of Germany . At the European Athletics Championships in 1974 he won the bronze medal (8: 18.0 min; German record).

At the 1976 Olympic Games he was fifth (8: 20.14 min), at the European Athletics Championships in 1978 he was fourth (8: 19.0 min).

Michael Karst belonged to the sports club SV Saar 05 Saarbrücken until 1976 , later to the USC Mainz . During his competition time he was 1.73 m tall and weighed 60 kg.
