Donna MacFarlane
Donna MacFarlane (born Tyberek ; born June 18, 1977 in Melbourne ) is a former Australian obstacle runner .
In 1996 she became Australian junior cross-country champion , in 1997 in the 800 and 1500 meters . In 2000 she started the obstacle course, but then took a break from sports for several years to start a family.
At the end of 2005 she returned to competition. She won bronze at the 2006 Commonwealth Games in Melbourne. The following year, a lost shoe forced her to give up at the World Championships in Osaka . On June 6th, 2008 she set the current Oceania record in Oslo with 9:18.35 minutes.
She took part in the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing , but was eliminated from the 3000 m obstacle course in the preliminary run.
Donna MacFarlane is 1.76 m tall and weighs 57 kg. She graduated from the University of Tasmania and lives in Hobart with her husband Marty and two children. She starts for the Sandy Bay Harriers club.
