Catherine Kirui

Catherine Kirui (born March 1, 1976 ) is a Kenyan long-distance runner .

In 1991 she was sixth in the junior women's race at the World Cross Country Championships in Antwerp and won gold with the team.

In the adult division, she was eleventh at the 1995 World Cross Country Championships in Durham and won gold with the Kenyan team.

In 2004 she won the Prague Half Marathon and the 15 km of Le Puy-en-Velay and won bronze over 10,000 m at the African Athletics Championships in Brazzaville . At the 2005 World Cross Country Championships in Saint-Galmier, she was sixth in the long distance and won silver with the team. In 2008 she finished second in the Turin Marathon .

Catherine Kirui is the half-sister of the former 5000 m world champion Ismael Kirui .
