Ahmad Hassan Abdullah
Ahmad Hassan Abdullah ( Arabic أحمد حسن عبد الله, DMG Aḥmad Ḥasan ʿAbdu 'llāh , maiden name Albert Chepkurui ; Born July 29, 1981 in Kaptarakwa , Elgeyo-Marakwet County ) is a Qatari long-distance runner of Kenyan origin.
In 2001 he finished sixth on the short distance at the World Cross Country Championships , in 2002 he took the same place on the long distance.
On August 12th he moved from Kenya to Qatar, on the occasion of which he adopted an Arabic name. Shortly afterwards, he was fourth in the 10,000-meter run at the 2003 World Athletics Championships in Paris / Saint-Denis .
In 2004 he finished fourth on the short distance at the World Cross Country Championships and won bronze at the World Half Marathon Championships in New Delhi . He also won bronze in the long distance at the 2005 World Cross Country Championships , and in the short distance he came eighth.
In 2007 he became Asian champion over 10,000 m and runner-up over 5000 m . In 2008 he came in eighth at both the World Cross Country Championships and the 10,000 meter run at the Beijing Olympics .
