Alemitu Abera

Alemitu Abera (born January 1, 1986 ) is an Ethiopian marathon runner .
In 2005 she was tenth in the junior women's race of the World Cross Country Championships in Saint-Galmier and vice-African junior champion over 3000 m . In 2008 she was third in the 10 km du Conseil Général.
In 2009 she finished seventh in the Istanbul Marathon , third in the Houston Marathon in 2010 , fourth in the Ottawa Marathon and second in Istanbul. In 2011, after a second place in the Xiamen Marathon and a third in the Daegu Marathon, she won the third attempt in Istanbul. 2012 victories in Houston and Daegu followed. In 2013 she finished 13th in the Boston Marathon with a time of 2:33:46 h.
