Deriba Alemu
Deriba Alemu (born June 5, 1983 ) is an Ethiopian long-distance runner .
It first appeared internationally in October 2003. After a 36th place at the World Half Marathon Championships in Vilamoura , she won the half marathon competition at the Reims Marathon a short time later . In 2004 she was sixth in the Portugal half marathon and second in the Zevenheuvelenloop . At the 2005 World Cross Country Championships in Saint-Galmier, she was ninth on the short course and won gold with the Ethiopian team. In 2006 she was fifth in the Zevenheuvelenloop.
In 2007 she set a course record at the Delhi Half Marathon and won the Montferland Run . In 2008 she came seventh at the RAK half marathon .
