Baudouin de Lannoy

Baudouin de Lannoy (* 1388 in Hénin-Beaumont , † 1474 in Huppaye ) was Philip the Good's ambassador to Henry V of England .
Life
Baudouin de Lannoy was the progenitor of the Flemish noble family Lannoy . In his first marriage, Bauduin VI de Hénin-Liétard was married to Jacqueline de Lannoy. The marriage with Adrienne de Berlaymont resulted in Philippine and Baudouin II. De Lannoy, Lord of Molembais. Charles de Berlaymont and Claude de Berlaymont are counted among his descendants .
Baudouin de Lannoy was accepted into the Order of the Golden Fleece in November 1431 , on this occasion he was portrayed by Jan van Eyck in a purple cloak with gold brocade , which he had received from Philip the Good in 1427. Baudouin de Lannoy was Ambassador to the Court of St James’s when the "photo reporter" Jan van Eyck was also accredited as ambassador in London.
