Belaynesh Oljira

Belaynesh Oljira (born June 26, 1990 ) is an Ethiopian long-distance runner .

Life

In 2010 she won the Nice half marathon , came second in the 10 km du Conseil Général , fourth in the Lille half marathon and second in each of the 15 km competitions of the Istanbul marathon and Marseille - Cassis .

The following year she was tenth at the 2011 World Cross Country Championships in Punta Umbría and won silver with the Ethiopian team. At the Ethiopian championships she won the 10,000 m , and the Delhi half marathon .

In 2012, she set a course record of 1:08:26 h in the Houston Marathon half marathon . At the Prefontaine Classic she was able to qualify over 10,000 m with a third place and a time of 30: 26.70 min for the Olympic Games in London , where she came in fifth. A sixth place in the Delhi half marathon in autumn was followed by a fifth place in the Dubai marathon in early 2013 .

At the Cross Country World Championships in Bydgoszcz , she won bronze in the individual and again silver in the team classification. After a third place at the Ostrava Golden Spike over 10,000 m in 30: 31.44 min, she was nominated for the 2013 World Athletics Championships in Moscow, where she won bronze in 30: 46.98 min.
