action

In 2056, humanity will be hit by mass deaths from organ failure. The biotech group GeneCo , headed by the company's boss Rotti Largo, offers replacement organs, also against loan financing. However, those who cannot meet the payments are visited by so-called repo men who bring the organ that has been implanted under retention of title back for the group.

Shilo Wallace, a 17-year-old girl, apparently suffers from a rare blood disease and is looked after by her father Nathan at home. He cannot get over the death of his wife Marni, who was killed when Shilo was born. Nathan therefore takes special care of Shilo, which she finds annoying. Nathan locks her in her room for her "own safety", arguing that he was, after all, a doctor and her father, and that he knew best what to do. What Shilo doesn't know is that her father leads a double life. Nathan is GeneCo's most ruthless and successful repo man, whose next assignment, to remove the artificial eyes from the GeneCo opera singer Blind Mag, whom Shilo admires, shakes his entire concept. Blind Mag is Shilo's godmother and was the best friend of Nathan's late wife. But since he feels guilty for the death of his wife and Nathan has a lifelong contract with GeneCo, he is forced to do this.

Meanwhile, Rotti Largo learns that he doesn't have much longer to live and worries about his inheritance. His three children, Amber Sweet, a young woman who is addicted to cosmetic surgery, Luigi Largo, a quick-tempered guy who slaughters people all day for no reason, and Pavi Largo, a man whose face is torn to pieces and who seduces young women and kills just to wear their faces as a mask are out of the question for Rotti; he would rather bequeath his inheritance to Shilo, the daughter of his late ex-fiancée Marni.

main characters

  • Shilo Wallace ( Alexa Vega ) is the 17-year-old protagonist of the film. She believes she has a rare genetic blood disorder and blames her mother for it. The truth, however, is that her father gave her some kind of poison so that he could take care of her. Shilo likes to sing. Her role model is the famous soprano Blind Mag . She also dreams of an independent, self-determined life.
  • Nathan Wallace ( Anthony Head ) is Shilo's father. Since he feels guilty for the death of his wife Marni , he cares for his daughter around the clock. He makes sure that she gets sick just to be able to take care of her, which suggests a case of Munchausen proxy syndrome. After the death of his wife Nathan quit his job as a doctor and signs a contract with the pharmaceutical company GeneCo , where he was known as Repo Man (of English repossession -. Repurchase agreement) works and sold by GeneCo and unpaid organs "retrieving" of the customer. Until shortly before the end of the film, his daughter did not know anything about this position.
  • Rottissimo "Rotti" Largo ( Paul Sorvino ) is the rich and unscrupulous managing director of GeneCo and the owner of the television channel "the Genetic Opera" . Since he suffers from an incurable viral disease, he is looking for an heir for his life's work. His three children are out of the question for him, however, as he considers them lazy and depraved. Rather, he wants Shilo to inherit. Rotti is also a great lover of classical opera.
  • Magdalene "Blind Mag" ( Sarah Brightman ) is the most famous soprano of her time. She sings in the "Genetic Opera" and is also the official voice actor for GeneCo. Having received artificial eyes from Rotti's company GeneCo in the past , she has been required to work for the television station her entire life. Even though she knows the Repo-Man will take her eyes back, she is determined to end her singing career. In her aria “Chromaggia” she sings that she would rather be blind again than continue to be trapped. At the end of the piece, she scratches out her own eyes. Rotti, who cuts the ropes on which she hovers over the stage, portrays her death as "part of the show".
  • Amber Sweet (nee Carmela Largo) ( Paris Hilton ) is the daughter of Rotti Largos, who is addicted to cydates and plastic surgery. She considers herself a gifted singer, but is often ridiculed for her lack of talent. The singer Blind Mag is deeply repugnant to her, and she is looking forward to the last appearance and the associated breach of contract. At the end of the film, her face is completely paralyzed and disfigured due to the many operations.
  • Luigi Largo ( Bill Moseley ) is the irascible eldest son of Rottisimo Largo . He has a habit of tearing his shirts and stabbing his employees. He considers himself the ideal successor to his father and describes himself as strong, smart and serious.
  • Paviche "Pavi" Largo ( Kevin Graham Ogilvie ) is Rotti's vain, younger son . Since his face is disfigured by scars, he wears the faces of his lovers as a mask . He believes that his "excessive" beauty is a reason for inheritance law.
  • Grave Robber ( Terrance Zdunich ) is the darkly charismatic narrator of the story. He's a cydrate dealer who is in contact with Amber Sweet ; both business and sexual . He illegally extracts the cydrate he sells from corpses that he digs up in the cemetery at night. According to Rotti , he is a former GeneCo apprentice .

Other characters

  • Marni Wallace ( Sarah Power , sung by Nancy Long) is Shilo's dead mother. She was poisoned by her former lover Rotti Largo after marrying Nathan . Until his death, however, Nathan believed that it was his own fault for her death.
  • a single mother (Jake Reardon, sung by Poe ) who works as a GeneCo model. Originally, she only wanted to have one kidney replaced, but at Rotti's insistence, the whole thing ended with a "whole body renewal ".
  • DJ Granny (Hazel Gorin) works as a DJ in the Genetic Opera .
  • Rotti's private doctor (Al Maini) is killed after breaking the bad news of his fatal illness to Rotti Largo .
  • Jessica Adams (Jessica Horn) had a heart transplant at GeneCo , but she couldn't pay for it, so the repo man had to remove her heart again.
  • Guitarist from the song "Seventeen" ( Joan Jett )
