Christine Helen Lakin (born January 25, 1979 in Dallas ) is an American actress . She gained fame primarily through the role of Alicia "Al" Lambert in the sitcom A Strong Family (original title: Step By Step ).

biography

After several moves in her childhood, Lakin attended high school in Atlanta , where she gained her first theater experience. Lakin began her professional acting career with a few appearances in commercials before starring in her first big hit, a film about the American Civil War called The Love of a Spy . This film came out in 1990, a year before A Strong Family began filming. On the sitcom, she played Alicia "Al" Lambert , the boisterous and defensive daughter of a father of three ( Patrick Duffy ) who is marrying a mother of three ( Suzanne Somers ). She retained the role until the series was discontinued in 1998.

After the series ended, Lakin starred in various television films and made guest appearances in television series such as Boston Public and Veronica Mars . Since 2002 Lakin has been increasingly playing theater, most recently in the musical version of Happy Days . She is also a member of the MTV improvisation comedy Wild 'N Out . Aside from her acting career, Lakin earned a bachelor's degree in communications from UCLA in 2003 .

Private life

Christine Lakin has been married to actor Brandon Breault since October 2014. Their daughter was born in March 2016 and their son in September 2018.
