Vargas & Lagola are a Swedish singer-songwriter duo consisting of Vincent Pontare and Salem Al Fakir .

Career

Al Fakir and Pontare worked together for a few years before the duo was founded, including writing various songs for Avicii , Axwell Λ Ingrosso , Galantis , Seinabo Sey and Veronica Maggio . Since 2016, they have also been using the common name Vargas & Lagola for their songwriting credits . The first single Rolling Stone was released in January 2017. In the same year they decided to perform as the official featuring on Avicii's song Friend of Mine . With the song on the EP AVĪCI (01) , they reached number five on the Swedish music charts, despite not being released as a single . Some of their published songs are acoustic or country versions of the hits they have written, such as Sun Is Shining or More Than You Know by Axwell Λ Ingrosso.

When performing live, they appear in elaborate Indian-like costumes. This took place for the first time in 2015 during Axwell Λ Ingrosso's appearance at the Coachella Festival 2015 , but not yet under the common name.

The duo is under contract with Universal Music Sweden . Her music has been published on the Virgin sublabel since 2018 . In March 2018 they worked with Avicii on his third studio album Tim . After his death in April 2018, Vargas & Lagola were part of the team tasked with completing the album. The second single was titled Tough Love and was produced by them. In addition to Pontare, his wife Agnes Carlsson also sings . In 2019 they released the two singles Selfish and Since '99 .
