Horst Reichel (born March 28, 1982 ) is a German triathlete who mainly starts on the long distance. He is an Ironman winner (2014).

Career

Horst Reichel grew up in Pfungstadt and was a swimmer at TSV Pfungstadt at the age of four .

Vice-champion triathlon middle distance 2010

In 2010, the South Hesse German vice-champion in the triathlon on the middle distance. Horst Reichel is known as a strong swimmer and in June 2013 he won half the Ironman distance at Ironman 70.3 Italy . In 2013 he was able to qualify for a starting place at the Ironman World Championship in Hawaii for the first time.

First Ironman victory in 2014

In August 2014, he won Ironman Sweden after finishing third here last year.

From 2012 on, Reichel started together with Jan Raphael , Timo Bracht and Georg Potrebitsch for the 21run.com Triathlon Team , which became the Power Horse Triathlon Team in 2013 and the Sport for Good Team in 2015 . He has been part of the DSW Darmstadt triathlon team since 2015 .

In June 2018 he was able to successfully defend his title at the Bonn Triathlon in the middle distance .

Horst Reichel lives in Darmstadt and is enrolled as a student teacher for history and sports at the Technical University of Darmstadt .
