The Team Sport for Good (proper spelling TEAM SPORT FOR GOOD) is a German professional triathlon team and went early 2015 from the Power Horse Triathlon Team forth. In the founding year 2015, it consisted of five German triathletes: Timo Bracht , Horst Reichel , Julian Beuchert , Jan Raphael and Georg Potrebitsch .
The team members have achieved several Ironman victories together (3.8 km swimming , 180 km cycling and 42.195 km running ).

history

The triathlon team Team Sport for Good emerged from the then existing Power Horse Triathlon Team at the beginning of 2015 .

Historically, the core of the team with Timo Bracht, Horst Reichel, Jan Raphael and Georg Potrebitsch has existed since 2012, although the name of the team has changed over time. In 2012 it was called the 21run.com Triathlon Team , from 2013 to 2014, Power Horse Triathlon Team and since 2015 Team Sport for Good . After Georg Potrebitsch left the team in summer 2015 due to the end of his professional career, Rafael also announced in 2016 that he would leave the team and go his own way.

In April 2016, the Sport for Good team announced that the two Finnish professional triathletes Kaisa Lehtonen and Darby Thomas, ten-time Finnish triathlon champions at the age of 32, would complete the team.

philosophy

Team Sport for Good during joint running training (2015)

The Sport for Good team is an association of professional triathletes who train together and compete in triathlon competitions around the world. According to his own statement, all members of the team have equal rights. Since 2014, several joint team training camps have been held on Mallorca every year to prepare for competitions . The team also offers the opportunity to exchange information on training content such as nutrition , regeneration and preparation for competitions .

Non-profit team approach

The unusual thing about the team approach of Team Sport for Good is that it starts for a foundation . With its performances and income, the team supports the Laureus Sport for Good Foundation, which uses sport to fight social problems and help disadvantaged children and young people . The team tries to carry the message of Laureus into the world of endurance sports and inspire others to follow suit. In the long term, the team approach should be developed in such a way that amateur athletes and fans also have the opportunity to get involved with Laureus and thereby become members of the Team Sport for Good Community. Daniel Juncadella has been a member of the team since October 2015 and will compete for the team in his triathlon competitions. Together with the professional athletes, he will prepare for a planned start at the 2016 Ironman World Championship in Hawaii. In addition, joint campaigns are being implemented for the Laureus Sport for Good Foundation.
