Laureus Sport for Good is a social movement founded in 1999 by Daimler AG and Richemont , which aims to bring about social changes in socially disadvantaged areas through sport and accompanying socio-educational support. Laureus consists of the Laureus Sport for Good Foundation, the Laureus World Sports Academy and the Laureus World Sports Awards . The organization is based in London . The foundation is supported by Mercedes-Benz and IWC Schaffhausen.

Laureus Sport for Good Foundation

The foundation supports socially disadvantaged children and young people around the world with long-term, free sports activities. Over 150 projects in 35 countries have now been funded. Since it was founded in 2000, over 100 million euros in donations have been collected, helping more than 3 million socially disadvantaged children and young people. In addition to the members of the Laureus World Sports Academy, more than 180 former and active athletes as well as other prominent personalities support the foundation as Laureus ambassadors.

Laureus Sport for Good Foundation Germany / Austria

The Laureus Sport for Good Foundation Germany was founded in 2001 as the first national Laureus Foundation and has also supported social sports projects in Austria since 2009 . More than 50,000 children have already been reached in Germany and Austria with the help of 17 projects.

The social sports projects receive support from the five German and Austrian Laureus Academy members Franz Beckenbauer , Boris Becker , Maria Höfl-Riesch , Franz Klammer and Katarina Witt and the currently 28 Laureus ambassadors: Verena Bentele , Ole Bischof , Stefan Blöcher , Fredi Bobic , Martin Braxenthaler , Julia Dujmovits , Jan Frodeno , Manuel Fumic , Moritz Fürste , Felix Gottwald , Fabian Hambüchen , Marc Janko , Christa Kinshofer , Philip Köster , Nia Künzer , Jens Lehmann , Hermann Maier , Meredith Michaels-Beerbaum , Thomas Morgenstern , Mesut Özil , Birgit Prinz , Nico Rosberg , Axel Schulz , Marcel Siem , Sebastian Steudtner , Michael Teuber , Anna Veith and Kathi Wörndl .
