EuroHockey Club Trophy

The Euro Hockey Trophy was held from 6th to 9th April 2012 in Lille , France . It forms the first substructure for the Euro Hockey League. In addition to the title, the clubs also played for points for their national association in the EHF 3-year evaluation, which determines the number of clubs in a nation for the European Cup competitions.

The starting places for the Trophy were awarded on the one hand after the EHF 3-year ranking. Belarus and Scotland did not get a starting place in the EHL , so that their national champions competed in the Trophy. On the other hand, due to good results, last year's trophy participants were allowed to play champions from Austria and Switzerland in the EHL .

The dovetailing with the third-class Euro Hockey Challenge I takes place via a promotion and relegation regulation. The second starter from Scotland and the Czech champion only achieved the last two places seven and eight in last year's trophy and thus relegated to the challenge. Instead, the winners of the promotion games in the Challenge, the second starter from Austria and Switzerland in the trophy.

The four remaining representatives remained unchanged from the previous year: Welsh champions, second European starter from France and the two representatives of Italy.
