The Euro Hockey League 2013/2014 was the seventh season of the European Hockey Federation discharged Euro Hockey League , the most important European competition for club teams in hockey . The competition was played out in a total of three tournaments with group and knockout phases. The mode has not changed since previous years. In eight preliminary round groups of three teams each, the two group winners qualify for the round of 16. The knockout games were played in Eindhoven on Easter 2014 between April 16 and 21. In the final, the debutant Harvestehuder THC prevailed against the Dutch representative Oranje Zwart .

Attendees

A total of 24 teams from the 12 best-placed nations in the EHF 3-year ranking qualified for the EHL competition. All other nations starting at the European Cup sent their two participating teams to the Trophy and Challenge competitions. The nations on ranks 1-4 of the EHF 3-year ranking provided three clubs, those on positions 5-8 two and those of 9-12 one for the field of the EHL.

Three clubs qualified for each of the seven EHL draws: Reading HC from England, HC Dinamo Kazan from Russia and WKS Grunwald Posen from Poland. With the German representative Harvestehuder THC from Hamburg, the SV Kampong from the Netherlands, the English representative Surbiton HC and the SV Arminen from Austria, four clubs made their debut at the EHL.

Fourteen of the 24 teams also played in the EHL last year. All three previous title holders, record winner Uhlenhorster HC , defending champion HC Bloemendaal and the title holder from 2011 HGC Wassenaar could not qualify nationally, so that a new club provided the winner in the 2013/2014 season. Poland got a second starting place after a year at Scotland's expense. Ireland no longer provided a team, but for the first time a club from Wales was eligible to compete in the EHL.
