The Banbridge Hockey Club is one of Ireland's oldest and most successful hockey clubs . Based in Banbridge , County Down , Northern Ireland, the club plays in red jerseys, black shorts and yellow socks. The club, founded in 1897, is a member of the Irish Hockey Association through the regional Ulster Hockey Union . The 1st men play in the Premier League of the Ulster Senior League. In 2011, the team won the Irish Hockey League, which was played at the same time, for the first time, making it part of the Euro Hockey League for the first time in 2011/2012 . There Banbridge meets Uhlenhorster HC from Hamburg and the French representative CA Montrouge in the preliminary round . At the European level, winning the second-rate Euro Hockey Club Champions Trophy 1985 represents the greatest success. In the final, the then Italian series champion Amsicora was beaten. By winning the tournament on their own facility, Team Ireland secured a place in the first-class Euro Hockey Club Champions Cup in 1986 .
