The HC Dinamo Kazan is a 1981 by students of the Kazan Chemical Technology Institute under the name Idel established Russian Hockey -Club from the metropolis of Kazan . The club has played in the highest Russian league since 1991. In 2000, Idel joined the Dinamo Sports Association and adopted its current name. In addition to winning the national cup in 2001, Dinamo won six Russian championships in a row from 2003 to 2008.
The club, playing in blue and white, survived the preliminary round in the Euro Hockey League 2008/2009 after a defeat against English Cannock HC and a victory over AHTC Vienna , but was clearly eliminated in the round of 16 against the Dutch HGC Wassenaar with 1: 6. In the 2008/2009 season, the club lost both preliminary round games against Cannock and HC Bloemendaal in the Euro Hockey League .
