The Real Club de Polo de Barcelona is a traditional sports club founded in 1897 in the Catalan metropolis of Barcelona . The club, located in the heart of the city not far from Camp Nou , has around 10,000 members. Sports are horse riding , polo , hockey , tennis and padel . At the 1992 Summer Olympics , the equestrian competitions were held on the club's 29 hectare facility, which, in addition to the riding stadium, has a polo field, three artificial turf hockey fields, 37 tennis courts and a hockey hall. In the course of history, the association was able to send 48 athletes to the Olympic Games.

From 1907 hockey was played at the RC de Polo and finally established as a department in 1914. The men's team is one of the top Spanish teams, only Atlètic Terrassa and Club Egara have won more Spanish championships. The greatest success for the RC de Polo, who played in white shirts with a blue-red chest ring and blue trousers, was winning the EuroHockey Club Champions Cup 2004 in the finals on their own facility with 1-0 against the club on the Alster . In the 2007/2008 debut season of the Euro Hockey League , the team reached the round of 16 after winning the preliminary round over Royal Antwerp and Dinamo Elektrostal , in which Atlètic Terrassa just got the upper hand in the domestic duel.
