Founded in 1923, the Antwerp Hockey Club (AHC) officially joined the Hockey Association in 1924 and took part in its game operations for the first time in the 1924/25 season. The following year the club rose to the first division and was also able to provide a women's team. In 1929 he was once again promoted to the first division, which they belonged to until 1946. In 1954 the third promotion to the House of Lords took place, this time without defeat, and a new sporting home was found in Deurne next to the Bosuil Stadium . From 1953 to 1965 the women became Belgian champions without interruption, remaining undefeated in 89 games in a row.

In 1974 the club was awarded the title Royal for its 50th anniversary. In 1988 an artificial turf pitch could be built in Sint Job in 't Goor after such an undertaking was not feasible in Deurne. At that time, the men's team commuted between the first and second division. In 2002 a second artificial turf was built. In 2005 the association had the largest number of members in Belgium. In 2006 the women first won the Belgian Cup and a year later, for the first time since the 1960s, they became champions again, which the men achieved for the very first time this year.

The RAHC hosted a preliminary round of the newly introduced Euro Hockey League in November 2007 and qualified for the round of 16, where they lost 2-0 to the English representative Loughborough Students .
