Loughborough Students HC

The Loughborough Students HC is the Hockey -Club of around 17 kilometers north of Leicester located Loughborough University . The club, playing in burgundy shirts and black pants, has around 100 active players and, in addition to the competitions of the British Universities Sports Association, also takes part in the England Hockey league . Hockey was already played at the former Loughborough Colleges at the beginning of the 20th century, the first Universities Athletic Union of England and Wales Championship was won in Birmingham in 1930 with a 1-0 final against Bristol.

After being promoted from the Midlands Premier League to the England National League Division 1 in 1997 and the England Hockey League in 2000 , Loughborough has been top notch in field hockey ever since. Since 2003, the team has placed in the top 4 and 3rd place in the 2006/2007 season meant the first qualification for a European competition on the field, after Loughborough had already played three indoor European cups through the three indoor hockey championships from 2003 to 2005 Has.
