Eredivisie Hockey
The Eredivisie Hockey (officially: BMW Hockey League in the men's and Athlon Car Lease Hockey League with the ladies) is the highest Belgian Hockey League (field). Since 1919, national championships have been held in Belgium under changing modes. There are currently twelve men's clubs and ten women's clubs in the Eredivisie. After a double round, the four best teams go into the play-offs to determine the Belgian champions. The record champions for men are the Royal Léopold Club with 23 titles and for women, Royal Uccle Sport with 22 championships. In the EHF 3-year ranking , which determines the number of national European Cup starters, Belgium currently (as of 2016) ranks third.
