The Léopold Club was one of ten clubs that founded the UBSSA in 1895 , the forerunner of the Belgian football association KBVB , and in 1896 one of the seven founding members of the First Division . He received the number 5 from the association and was considered an association of the Brussels upper class. After one season Léopold rose again as second in the table, but had to go back to the second division after a year. The second class could be held until 1926, and in 1928 there was a relegation to the fourth class. After that, the club played in the Third League from time to time. In 1954 the footballers started their own business under the name Royal Léopold FC . After some mergers, including in 1990 with the football department of Royal Uccle Sport , the club traded as Royal Uccle Léopold FC in 2011/12 and is based in the fourth division.

The Léopold players Hendrik van Heuckelum, Eric Thornton and Gustave Pilgrims were members of the Belgian national football team at the 1900 Summer Olympics in Paris.
