Division de Honor Masculina - A

The Division de Honor Masculina - A (DHMA) is the highest Spanish hockey league. The league was founded in 1957 by the Real Federatión Española de Hockey (RFEH) and, apart from a break of nine years, is held annually between 1961 and 1969. Today it is one of the best leagues in Europe alongside the German 1st Bundesliga and the Dutch Rabo Hoofdklasse . The winner of the Division de Honor Masculina - A is Spanish champion and is qualified for next season's European Cup , the Euro Hockey League . The last team is relegated to Division de Honor Masculina - B.

There is also a cup competition in which the teams of the first division take part, this is the national cup Copa de SM el Rey .

2006-2007 season

The season began on October 15, 2006 and ended on May 6, 2007 and is divided into 18 game days, Jornada in Spanish . Ten teams took part in the competition.

2010-2011 season

The season began on October 15, 2010 and ended on May 6, 2007 and was divided into a preliminary round with two seasons with six teams each. The first three teams qualified for the finals, the other clubs had to go to the relegation round. The four best-placed teams in the finals contested the championship play-offs.
