The Lille Métropole Hockey Club is one of the most successful French hockey clubs, whose facility with two artificial turf pitches is located in Lambersart on the Canal de la Deûle opposite the fortress of Lille . The club, playing in blue and red, was founded by members of the hockey department of Olympique Lille in 1924 as the Lille Hockey Club. In 2000 it was renamed to its current name. The men's team was eliminated in the Euro Hockey League 2008/2009 after defeats against the defending champions Uhlenhorster HC and Real Club de Polo de Barcelona in the preliminary round.
