Cecile Pieper

Cécile Pieper (born August 31, 1994 in Heidelberg ) is a German national hockey player .

Career

Cécile Pieper started playing hockey at HC Heidelberg . In 2011 she became field hockey champion in the A-Youth with the Mannheim HC , and in 2016 she won the German indoor championship with the Mannheim team.

Since 2009 she also played in the German national teams of different age groups, in 2011 she took second place at the U18 European Championship with the selection of the German Hockey Association. After the on November 11, 2013 senior team debut, she won with the national team ranked seventh in the FIH Hockey World League . In 2014 she was only defeated by the team from the Netherlands in the final of the European Indoor Hockey Championships . In 2015 she reached third place with the German national team by defeating Spain at the European outdoor championship . At the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro , she and the German team won the bronze medal match against New Zealand .

For this she was awarded the silver bay leaf on November 1, 2016 .

Private

Pieper studies psychology at the University of Mannheim.
