Life

In 1919 he had already given up philatelic receipts for transport with the airship LZ 120 “Bodensee”. At the age of 20, Sieger founded his company of the same name in Lorch (Württemberg) on December 16, 1922 . In the same year he donated the winner's prize named after him . In 1930 he published his Zeppelin postal catalog, the so-called “Sieger Catalog”, for the first time. When he was 35 years old, appointed him Paraguay to the Honorary Consul . He was curator of the collection of the Princely Liechtenstein Postal Museum and philatelic advisor to Zeppelin AG . His descendants continue to run the company to this day. In 1954 his son Hermann Walter Sieger (1928–2019) took over the company. In 1971 he was one of the initiators of a philatelic marketing campaign that shortly afterwards became known as the Apollo 15 stamp affair . In 1975 his grandson Günter Hermann Sieger joined the company and is now running it.

The winner in 1932 was one of the founding members of the NSDAP local group in Lorch and its local group leader until 1945 .

On June 6, 2005, on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the Postal Museum in Liechtenstein, a postage stamp ( Michel no. 1380) with a picture of him was issued, honoring him as the initiator of the Postal Museum.
