Winner price

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The winning prize for philatelic literature is named after the stamp dealer Hermann E. Sieger (1902–1954) who donated the prize in 1922. On the front of the medal is a portrait of Hermann E. Sieger with his name, year of birth and year of death. Since his death, the prize has been awarded by a chapter (a kind of jury) made up of a descendant and the previous winners. The award ceremony takes place every year and both domestic and foreign winners are honored with it. Writers or institutions who have distinguished themselves with philatelic literature in German are honored.
