Friedrich Wallisch

Friedrich Wallisch (born May 31, 1890 in Mährisch-Weißkirchen ; † February 7, 1969 in Vienna ) was an Austrian storyteller , playwright , poet and doctor .

Life

Wallisch had wealthy parents, his father was Wilhelm Wallisch . He served in the Austro-Hungarian Navy during World War I and was in Albania in 1914 . There he headed the academic department of the Austrian Fleet Association. At the same time he reported on the brief reign of Prince Wilhelm zu Wied (1876–1945) . After the end of the First World War, Wallisch studied medicine and received his doctorate1922. But he never worked as a doctor, but founded the European publishing house Dr. Friedrich Wallisch and devoted himself to literary and journalistic activities. He has written poetry, essays, short stories, biographies, travel books and plays. He has written numerous broad, action-packed, realistic novels that show linguistic elegance. In 1929 he founded the Austrian-Albanian Society and in 1954 the Protection Association of Austrian Writers, of which he was also President. The Protection Association of Austrian Writers was part of the Association of Intellectual Creators of Austria founded by Eduard Ludwig in 1946 .
