The Association of Intellectual and Austrian Authors (VGSoeA) is a non-partisan and interdenominational association based in Vienna . It was founded in 1946 by Eduard Ludwig , head of the Institute for Newspaper Studies at the University of Vienna , together with the “Association of Intellectual Creators”. In it, artists and scientists made a significant contribution to the spiritual reconstruction of the newly formed Austria. Numerous authors, in turn, got involved in the “Austrian Association of Authors”. In 1995 both of these associations were merged into one, the now “Association of Intellectual Creators and Austrian Authors”. The aim and the task of the association is:

  • the promotion and support of contemporary authors, painters, cultural workers and scholars by presenting their works in readings, exhibitions and other events,
  • the maintenance of the language, taking into account Austrian cultural assets and the Austrian dialects .
