Carl von Zeska
Carl von Zeska , from 1917 Carl Edler von Zeska (born October 31, 1862 in Hamburg , † July 18, 1938 in Vienna ) was an Austrian theater actor .
Life
He came from a family in Schleswig-Holstein . Zeska was engaged at the Vienna Burgtheater from 1892 to 1932 . Rudolf Lothar described him as an “excellent actor of cursed guys and reckless bon vivants” . At the film Zeska came hardly as an actor in appearance, however, resulted in 1913 causing a stir at film Johann Strauss at the Blue Danube Directed and also took over the title role.
As a kuk Hofburg actor, Zeska received on December 12, 1908 with a diploma from January 9, 1909 in Vienna, the Austrian nobility promotion and coat of arms confirmation. In addition, on April 20, 1917, he was awarded the title “ Noble von” in Vienna .
Carl von Zeska is the father of the chamber actor Philipp Zeska (1896–1977).
His grave is in the Vienna Central Cemetery (33A-5-19).
