Sonja Scheibl (* 5. September 1979 in Itzstedt ) is a German trap - marksman .

Sonja Scheibl works as a master carpenter. She starts for Itzstedter SV and is trained by Wilhelm Metelmann. She first appeared internationally in 1998 when she won the bronze medal with the Trap team at the World Championships alongside Silke Hüsing and Susanne Kiermayer in Barcelona . The following year in Tampere at the European Championships in trap singles, she won a bronze medal again, and she was sixth in the double trap competition. In Montecatini she was seventh at the 2000 European Championships. She repeated this result a year later in Zagreb, was also third with the trap team and won the silver medal with the double trap team. At the European Championships in 2002 in Lonato she was fifth with the trap team, at the World Championships in Lahti seventh in the trap competition and just missed a medal with the trap team as fourth. She missed this again at the European Championships in Brno in 2003 in this discipline, and was sixth in the trap and seventh in the double trap. At the World Championships of the year in Nicosia ( Latsia ) Scheibl was seventh in the trap competition. The 2004 European Championships took place at the same location, at which Scheibl was eighth in both trap and double trap and won the silver medal with the trap team. In 2005 she missed winning another international medal with the Trap team at both the European Championships in Belgrade and the World Championships in Lonato by only one place in each of them. A year later she was fifth with the Trap teams at the World Cup in Zagreb and the European Championship in Maribor . In 2006 the Trap team with Scheibl deteriorated again at the EM in Granada by one place to sixth. Things went better at the world championships of the year in Nicosia, where the trap team won the bronze medal with Scheibl. In Nicosia a year later, she once again missed a medal with the team at the European Championships by one place and was also sixth in the individual. At the 2010 European Championships in Kazan , he came eighth in the individual and won the European title for the first time with the team. At the EM 2011 in Belgrade, she was fifth with the Trap team. At the European Championships 2012 in Larnaka , Scheibl missed another international medal in the trap when he came fourth and was sixth with the team. She achieved her best result in the World Cup in 2011 when she was fifth in Maribor. Scheibl was able to qualify in the Trap discipline for the 2012 Summer Olympics in London . There she reached 17th place with 64 of 75 pigeons.
